Did you know that car accidents are not necessarily caused by accidents? In fact most accidents are not accidents at all but are caused by collisions which could have been avoided if only the drivers were alert enough. There are several factors that contribute to majority cases of collisions and these are as follows: equipment failure, roadway design, poor roadway maintenance and then the driver’s behavior. According to studies conducted on car accidents almost 95% of the accident can be blamed on the driver’s recklessness in driving either due to excessive speeding or due to aggressive driver behaviors. However, the remaining three factors are just considered as secondary causes of car accidents. In order to fully understand each of these causes it is important to tackle each one by one.
EQUIPMENT FAILURE The most common equipment failures are due to loss of brakes, tire blowouts, thread separation and then the steering and suspension failure. Nevertheless, such equipment failures should not be blamed on the car manufacturers since they have made all possible effort in providing their manufactured cars with safety features that are in accordance to the minimum safety standard in order to ensure the safety of their clients. Moreover, equipment failures only constitute 5% of the total car accidents reported.
ROADWAY DESIGN Roadway designs are the rarest cause of car accidents, it’s because roadway designs are a collaboration of all transportation experts that have years of experience when it comes to road construction as well as in effective traffic management system. Aside from that, roadways are constructed by engineers with consideration to the following: hazard visibility, roadway surfaces, traffic control devices, behavioral control devices, traffic flow, roadway identification signs and weather.
POOR ROADWAY MAINTENANCE Although there have reported cases of car accidents caused by poor roadway maintenance however the frequency of which is not enough to consider it a major cause of car accidents.
DRIVER’S ROAD BEHAVIOR The most common caused of car accidents are due to errors committed by drivers while driving. It is a common fact that people tend to blame faults on almost anything they can find to put the blame on for whatever wrong or mishap they caused. In fact, most studies related to car accidents shows that drivers in car accident situations tend to blame the other party for the whole car accident fiasco and only a very little percentage of drivers involved in car accidents actually confessed of being the one responsible. And also, studies further shows proofs that over speeding due to the aggressive behaviors of some drivers as well as the habit of drinking then driving often lead to car accidents.

UK’s market research company, YouGov claims that Mobile Broadband is beginning to inch in on the fixed line market. This among other things is actually a threat to the business of fixed line operators. YouGov’s DongleTrack report indicates that there are some people who are not quite happy with using just dongles. An estimated 64 percent of mobile broadband users still seem to like having dongles or datacards as an alternative. In fact, the survey indicated that some four percent of these mobile broadband users are fortunate to have employers who equip them with datacards. There is a small percent (12%) of users who have completely discarded their fixed line, or will rather not have a landline installed at all.
An analysis of the digital market by Ofcom indicated that dongle sales in the UK almost doubled during the period February to June. From 69,000, sale figures have now soared to 133,000 a month. This is definitely a factor that is a threat to the fixed line market. Added to that, more and more people are relying solely on mobile phones for their phone calls. As a result 12 percent of homes today are without landlines. And if that

So…I’m looking through my awstats like I do at least once a day. I have always found server logs to be full of useful information, and it’s important to try to glean as much as you can about your visitors from reading them.
Last week there was a very interesting spike in the number of visitors that came to this website. One day my traffic was more than double the average, even considering how traffic has been going up like crazy since I revived this domain last month.
I figured it might be the articles I have been writing and distributing. I have seen my byline all over the Internet lately, which I think is terrific. That day a new article appeared on a bunch of new sites, so maybe that was it. I went over to Isnare to take a look. Isnare is the foundation of my article distribution service -they’re good and they’re inexpensive.
I’m a good author (says me), but I had only been viewed 39 times, so that wasn’t the source. Even my email messages from people who had visited the site had increased. When I replied to one of the emails (I try to respond to all of them), I asked the person how he had come to the web site. He responded that he had seen my signature in a sitepoint.com post.
Sure enough, right up near the top of referring URLs was the SitePoint script that spits out the forum posts. Awesome. Want to see my signature? Here it is:

Pretty fancy, huh? By the way, I posted because someone asked a very good basic question that no one was answering. I didn’t want to leave him hanging, so I answered it. That’s all. And I got a ton of traffic. I even got a private message from someone asking me if the domain was for sale. The bonus is that the post is also good for my Google pagerank, as the forum’s PR was way higher than mine (which isn’t difficult these days). I also noticed that a lot of the Sitepoint people were checking out affiliateblog.com using whois and SEO tools, just to find out more about me. I guess that is the Internet equivalent of dogs sniffing eachother (I won’t say where).
So go out there and find a forum or two that fits the theme of your site, and then go bail someone out who needs a question answered. Here are two forum directories for your posting pleasure:

Bill Huang sits down at his computer. As he connects to the Internet, he glances out at the sun poking its nose above the Hong Kong skyline. It will be another busy day, and he has to order those slippers for his wife before rushing off to a meeting.
He types in his search terms and Google faithfully reports: “Results 1 – 100 of about 1,760,000. Search took 0.34 seconds.”
Bill clicks on a the Big Soft Slipper web site and waits for the page to load. “Site unavailable,” Bill reads. He hits the “back” button. Then he clicks on another of the 1,760,000 pages Google offered him.
High above Cleveland, USA, the executives at Big Soft Slipper are clinking their glasses and patting themselves on the back. “We sure did it,” the CEO crows. “Look at that beautiful home page. Look at the easy navigation. Look at how fast it loads.”
Somebody please tell them about Bill Huang.
“Very few people realize how the web site that loads so zippy in their office, flows like molasses on their customers’ computers – and may not even be accessible at all,” says Vadim Mazo, CEO of Dotcom-Monitor ( http://www.dotcom-monitor.com ), a web site monitoring company. “While they celebrate, they could be losing customers.”
Even in the United States, the most developed Internet market in the world, one out of five Internet users still operate on 56K connections. Smart companies have gotten wise, and test their web sites on slow connections – usually 56K. That leaves 13 million Americans with even slower connections – along with hordes of customers in India, China, Australia, Russia, South Africa and elsewhere around the world.
Who is monitoring your web site from Europe and Asia?
“We just opened up a new web site monitoring station in Hong Kong, because there is a growing demand for monitoring web site performance from Asia,” Mr. Mazo adds. “While nobody can monitor individual connections, we can monitor sever side connection speeds and web site accessibility – both of which are affected by transatlantic transfers.”
In fact, bottlenecks can develop in several spots along the transatlantic connections – bottlenecks that could slow down or even block a web site completely. If a webmaster is not monitoring the performance of his web site overseas as well as at home, he will not be aware of the bottleneck and unable to contact his provider about it.
The fact is that a web site will load slower on the opposite side of the world, regardless of the type of connection the surfer has. But that is compounded when the transatlantic connections, or other local connections, block up.
Is connection speed a problem worth monitoring?
In May 2001, Zona Research reported that slow loading web sites accounted for $25 billion in lost sales each year ( http://www.marketresearch.com/map/prod/483429.html ) As Internet usage continues to climb around the world, that figure might be closer to $40 billion by now.
Another study, by BizRate.com ( http://www.bizrate.com ) in 2000, revealed that most people abandon purchases on the Internet while already in the shopping cart section – 21 percent due to slow-loading pages. In other words, even when the home page and the sales pages operate at a satisfactory speed, customers get frustrated by slow loading or failed shopping carts.
“It’s one thing to know that your web site is accessible. It is another to know that all your forms and your shopping carts are performing to your customers’ satisfaction,” Mr. Mazo says. He adds that web site monitoring avoids the embarrassing moment when the customer lets a company know its site is not accessible. “The only thing worse is if nobody lets you know and you just keep losing sales.”
This suggests there is value in monitoring your web site from overseas — and in monitoring the forms and shopping carts and anything other server requests and user transactions
Stella Huang loves her new slippers. They are just perfect. She really does not care where they come from. The executives at Big Soft Slipper were not monitoring their web site performance, so they have no idea that they just lost a customer. And another customer. And another…

When you decide to marry, one of the most important decisions will be about your ring. Traditionally, gold, white gold, silver and platinum have been used in wedding bands. But today, the selection of metals is broader, reflecting the change in our tastes and lifestyle. Tungsten carbide is one of the new metals from which jewelry designers have begun to craft wedding band rings, offering a wide variety of styles and designs that fit every taste and budget.
What is Tungsten Carbide?
On its own, tungsten is a very hard and dense metal, with the highest melting point of all metals – 6,100 degrees Fahrenheit. Alone, tungsten is vulnerable to scratches and damage just like any other metal, it gains its extreme hardness by being combined with a carbon alloy, transforming it into tungsten carbide, with a hardness between 8.5 and 9.5 on the Mohs hardness scale. The strength of tungsten carbide has made it widely used for decades in industrial applications – it is four times harder than titanium, twice as hard as steel and almost impossible to scratch. The resulting metal can be designed into wedding band rings that are both visually stunning to please the eye and durable enough to withstand everyday use. These rings can only be damaged through extreme measures, such as abrasion from diamonds or being struck with a hammer.
Choosing Your Tungsten Carbide Wedding Band Ring
Make sure you ask your jeweler which metal was used in the finishing or binding process. Many manufacturers of tungsten carbide wedding band rings use cobalt as a binder, mostly because it is cheaper to produce. The problem with cobalt is that it bonds with oils in the skin and leeches out of the ring resulting in oxidation. The oxidation appears similar to tarnished sliver, but cannot be removed by polishing or grinding. The better choice is nickel-binder tungsten carbide which is chemically inert, will not oxidize and because it is hypoallergenic, there is no danger of irritation to the skin. Be careful about dealing with a jeweler that doesn’t specify that their tungsten wedding bands are made with the nickel binder alloy. Many jewelry stores do not know which alloy they are selling, and if they don’t know, it is most likely cobalt alloy or pure tungsten, which lacks the hardness of tungsten carbide and are easily scratched.
Because of tungsten carbide’s extreme hardness, wedding bands made from this metal cannot be sized like gold, silver or platinum rings. When you are ready to purchase, make sure that you take extra care in determining the proper size. In regards to engraving a tungsten carbide ring, it is possible, but the results will be very faint and difficult to read.
Finally, since your tungsten carbide wedding band ring is not indestructible, it makes sense to get a warranty, especially against breakage. Under normal usage there should be little or no wear on both the polish and the textures of your tungsten carbide wedding band ring and you will never need to use your warranty.

Over the years, there has been millions and millions of people who have tried countless numbers of different diets to try and lose weight. Equally so, there has been millions and millions of people who failed at these diets. If all of these diets are supposed to be designed to make you lose weight, then why do most of them fail to do that? Why is it that no matter what diet you try, it never seems to work? Perhaps the diet itself was no good. Maybe it was too expensive to stick with. It could be that there was no support. Possibly, it just seemed to take too long to lose weight.
The fact is, not one of those reasons is why most diets don’t work. Surprised? Don’t be. In reality, it all boils down to one simple yet complex reason. Yes, there is really only one thing that stands between you and your weight loss and that one thing is; your desire to eat was stronger than your desire to lose weight.
It may sound too simple and may be a little hard to swallow, the truth often is, but that, my friend, is the plain and simple truth.
The only real reason diets fail is because people decide to let themselves go back to their former eating habits rather than making the changes necessary to lose the weight and keep it off and maintaining those changes.
Dieting is a long and oftentimes difficult journey that must be done step by step, little by little. There can be and often are all kinds of setbacks and pitfalls that can trap you, particularly during an endeavor that takes so much time and effort. Just one slip, one temptation given in to, and your whole struggle for weight loss can be sabotaged.
In order for any diet to be successful, it must have a strong foundation. With a strong foundation, it will be a bit easier to hold your ground when those little pitfalls come along to tempt you. There also must be a solid plan. Without a good, solid plan, you will just be grasping at straws and going in all different directions. You need a plan to help guide you in the right direction at all times.
One thing that has helped many people who were successful with their diets was having the support of family members and friends. This can be a major asset that can help you stay with it.
Probably the most important thing to remember is, never starve yourself, make sure you make room to eat the foods you like from time to time and make a little time for some moderate exercise. Your diet does not have to fail, and with a little help from you, it can succeed and that means, you can succeed.

If you type into the search engines the phrase “cleaning tips” you get a choice of something like 14,800,000 websites to choose from and many of those websites will redirect you to scores of other websites. There are specific sites that are dedicated to giving hints, advice and tips on a variety of topics with seemingly no vested interest. Many of these tips are useful. However many cleaning companies include on their websites a cleaning tips page. I would argue that many of these are useless both to the visitor and to the company.
Why do they do it? To attract more visitors to their site? To gain more customers? The purpose of the website is to provide information to potential customers on the services and products the business provides. Every visitor should be a potential customer. If a visitor leaves without making an enquiry then you have to improve the website and or the services you provide. Or you are not using the right keywords so are attracting people in by default. It is not really your type of services that the person actually wants. No matter what you do you will always attract a certain number of these. What you actually require is lots of high quality visitors. The best way of achieving this is to provide the surfer with as much high quality content as you can whilst still accurately describing your own companies products and services accurately. Good content will go down well with the search engines and raise your profile on them, which in turn should drive quality visitors to your site. Hence improving sales.
This is the whole purpose of the website. For businesses it is purely a marketing tool and another method of gaining customers. So how do cleaning companies produce lots of high quality content? Many go for “frequently asked questions” which is quite a legitimate way of producing content whilst informing potential customers of things they are likely to want to know about you and your products and services. So we come to the “cleaning tips”. A little research has demonstrated to me that well over half the cleaning companies with visible websites have at least a page on cleaning tips and some have multiple pages divided up into different categories. Try reading through these sometime. Carpet cleaning companies are the biggest users of these types of pages. How useful are they? Some of the tips provided by these carpet firms are quite useful, but the general cleaning companies leave a lot to be desired. Their cleaning tips are akin to those you might see on the TV reality programmes about cleaning. For example “make a paste with baking soda and vinegar and smear over your taps; wrap cling film around and leave over night. Scrape off in the morning.” It may work but why would anybody want to do that when two minutes using phosphoric acid with the minimal of effort would achieve much better results? Do the cleaning companies themselves make use of any of these tips? You can bet your life that very few do. The object is to get the job done as quickly and efficiently as possible so for each job you choose the most effective and efficient cleaning product available. So why do they have these pages? They attract people who are not likely to be turned into customers because they are looking for ways to do it themselves. So it can only be for the purposes of attracting any visitor type. It is content and content about cleaning but very few companies are going to give away their actual methods of doing something quickly and efficiently which would be beneficial to the visitor instead they perpetuate old style cleaning methods which bear no resemblance to the modern world.
So for the web browser I would suggest that if you are looking for cleaning tips look elsewhere than at those provided by cleaning companies except possibly the carpet-cleaning firms. If you are a cleaning company looking to increase your content on your website look elsewhere than at providing a “cleaning tips” page. You can produce better and more relevant content than that unless you are prepared to give away your trade secrets!
David Andrew Smith runs a successful cleaning services company found at www.wesparkle.co.uk which apart from general cleaning specialises in the cleaning and polishing of natural stone.

If you truly want to know what is happening in the world today, take a look at the US State Departments Travel Warnings. These Warnings are not to be taken lightly. Just because the warnings are not on the six o’clock news does not mean that there is nothing to be concerned about.
The US Government has an obligation to inform and warn US citizens about unsafe travel destinations. And the Team of writers (Bureau of Consular Affairs) who write the Travel Warnings take their job very seriously, (Information based upon the details and high level of information provided to US Citizens)
I can’t help to think that there is a template for information that is to be provided, even so, the information is detailed and enlightening.
The Travel warnings are very factual without emotion or personality, just cold hard facts that leave you wondering if you should ever leave the country?
The thought of not leaving the country last only for a moment. The thought of us, US Citizens, not being able to travel anywhere in the Free world is a joke. (Most of us are not old enough to remember WW II.) We are spoiled and feel that as long as we have a passport, a credit card and a desire to go, then there can be no other factors. This line of thinking may be OK for now, and maybe for dozens of years to come, however, it is time to become VERY AWARE of our surroundings while traveling outside of the US.
(This next paragraph is for the young jet-set)
As a word of caution, it may be time to retire from the International night clubs a little earlier and much more sober. It may be time to be discrete before sharing your hotel room number and location with complete strangers or going for a ride with a stranger that you meet at the party or having a party within a party at a different location from the original party! (If you understand what I just wrote, then I am talking to you)
Heads up people, we must become more aware when traveling outside of the US. I cannot say this enough. This includes cruise ships, all inclusive resorts, International jet-set hot spots, and private islands, spring breaks, senior travel and sex party travel.
One thing is for sure, the US State Department is not telling everything!
‘Stuff is Happening’ and its not always on the News. Be safe, be aware, say a pray and if you don’t pray, meditate. Read the Travel Warnings and know that there are millions and millions of people just like you, who will travel no matter what is happening in the world.
