Naveen Jain is the illustrious founder and chief executive officer of the Bellevue, Washington-based online information company Intelius, which is most known for its innovative products such as background checks and IDWatch, an identity theft protection service. Personal Life Born on September 6, 1959, in Uttar Pradesh, India, Naveen Jain took his undergraduate engineering course at Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. He then attended XLRI Jamshedpur School of Business and Human Resources and earned his postgraduate degree in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations. Jain eventually left his home country and immigrated to the United States through a business exchange program. Naveen Jain is married to Anu Jain, the current Vice President of Community Relations at Intellius. The couple now maintains their residence in Medina, Washington, along with their three children. Life as an Entrepreneur When Jain came to the United States, he first took a job at Burroughs Corporation in New Jersey. He stayed only for a year since he did not adjust to New Jersey’s climate. In 1989, Jain joined Microsoft Corporation and helped launch the Microsoft Network (MSN). He left Microsoft in 1996 and founded InfoSpace, an online search engine and directory. He served as CEO of InfoSpace from 1996 to 2002. In 2003, Jain formed Intelius with his vision of providing intelligent information to customers that would allow them to reconnect with others, protect their families, and make right and informed choices.
