Virgin Media Launches Broadband Travel Passes for Overseas Travellers

Business travellers across the globe pay high prices to avail internet services overseas. The high cost of broadband on roaming has been the cause for ample complaint from internet users for a while now. Virgin has now launched Travel Passes to address just these complaints.

With Virgin Media’s Travel Passes, people who have to frequently travel out of UK, can still use the mobile internet for communication without having to pay up huge amounts to do so. Jonathan Kini, Director of Mobile at Virgin Media has announced that these Travel Passes could become a way of life for the business traveller who likes to be updated while travelling overseas. These passes can also make other services easy, including locating favourite restaurants and Facebook uploads.

Travel Passes are data download passes which claim to give complete value for money. These Passes are available for £10, £15, £30 and £60 with a validity of one, three, seven and thirty days respectively. The data download is valid to the extent of the sum paid. It means that a £10 Travel Pass allows data download of 10 MB. Easy to track and easy to use, these passes are likely to become very popular among the frequently travelling set.

As of now, Virgin Mobile Broadband is offering these passes in the countries of the European Union only. To get these passes one has to just send text messages specifying the codes for the required service. The service is activated over the mobile handsets. For mobile users with internet enabled handsets, internet cafes and business centres may become truly obsolete once travel passes gain currency among the public.
