Now in the last few years, I actually suppose the fashion industry has finally acknowledged the facts of clothing sizes. Although it was just a few years before where you had to either squeeze into little sized boutique clothing, today we have the relief of larger sized clothing. Fashion accessories like babydoll lingerie (available in plus size) make it much easier for the average lady to get a size that matches her.
I think it’s due to simple market forces – the everyday clothing size of both men and women in Britain has enlarged over the decades, and although fashion brands have been rather idle in reacting, they eventually recognize that earnings come from reacting to what the market wants.
Not only that, there’s been a shift in fashion towards practicality. Gone are the times of ridiculous stilettoe heels and big hair; nowadays it’s perfectly acceptible to personalise your fashion without being pronounced a fashion pariah – which really makes the high street and nightclubs a lot more interesting locations! This new trend toward personal identity has been a great filip for the smaller boutique fashion shops that are able to provide to fashion niches taking place within the general public.
